A new leak reveals the battery sizes of Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S27 Ultra and S27 Pro including some long overdue upgrades, but do you think it’s enough?

Following Samsung’s adoption of silicon-carbon battery tech on the Galaxy Z Fold 8 series, it was inevitable that the Galaxy S27 series would jump on board. That’s not directly confirmed yet, but a regulatory leak offers a look at the rated capacities of Samsung’s new flagships

These are rated capacities, with advertised capacity generally being a bit higher. As a comparison, the Galaxy S26 Ultra has an advertised battery capacity of 4,855 mAh, but an advertised capacity of 5,000 mAh. So, with that in mind:

    • Galaxy S27 Ultra: Rated 5,534 mAh | Advertised likely 5,700~ mAh
    • Galaxy S27 Pro: Rated 5,087 mAh | Advertised likely 5,200~ mAh

There’s no direct comparison for the Pro model, but the Galaxy S26 sits at 4,300 mAh at around the same physical size, so this is a huge jump.

For Samsung’s full-size flagship, the Galaxy S27 Ultra is looking at a jump of around 700 mAh. It’s only 14%, but that’s a considerable step up after years of stagnation. Both devices are also listed with 60W wired charging.

But, in a world where silicon-carbon batteries are pushing Android flagships upwards of 6,000, 7,000, and even bigger batteries. The Oppo Find X10, for example, is rumored to pack in an 8,000 mAh battery when it debuts later this month.

What do you think? Did Samsung do enough? Sound off in the comments below.
