TL;DR
- The OnePlus 16 just cleared a regulatory hurdle, and we now know pretty much all its specs.
- It could feature a 9,000mAh battery, 100W fast charging, and the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6.
- It could also come with a 200MP primary, 50MP ultrawide, and 50MP telephoto camera.
We’ve been tracking OnePlus 16 leaks for months, and most of the specs seem locked in: a big battery, a high-refresh-rate display, and an upgraded camera system are all expected. Now, yet another leak has given us a fairly complete spec sheet for the upcoming flagship.
The OnePlus 16 recently received its network access certification in China, and leaker Digital Chat Station (DCS) took the opportunity to share a Weibo post with a detailed spec list.
The network access certification confirms that the OnePlus 16 will pack a 9,000mAh battery with support for 100W wired and 50W wireless charging. This further corroborates earlier DCS leaks suggesting the phone might use two 4,390 mAh battery cells.
DCS says the phone will feature a 200MP primary camera with a 1/1.4-inch sensor, a 50MP ultrawide camera, and a 50MP periscope telephoto lens with a 1/1.95-inch sensor. These specs match the “final” camera details DCS revealed earlier this month, which also indicated the phone could come with a 50MP front camera.
The OnePlus 16’s display is expected to support a 165Hz refresh rate, although DCS now claims it will support 185Hz for gaming. It could also have extremely thin bezels, with earlier DCS leaks suggesting the phone will have the thinnest bezels of any OnePlus phone yet.
We’ve already seen leaks suggesting OnePlus will use the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 (previously expected to be named the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro). Today’s leak corroborates this, with DCS mentioning the “Snapdragon 8EE6” processor. The chipset could be paired with up to 16GB of RAM, and OnePlus is expected to bring back an 8GB RAM variant this year.
DCS also says that the design looks “quite stylish.” The OnePlus 16 is expected to launch sometime in October, but the company hasn’t confirmed an exact date. Even though the phone won’t launch in the US, you might want to import it. If these specs are accurate, it could be an amazing Android flagship.
