Artificial intelligence agent startup Wonderful AI BV today announced that it has raised $550 million in funding.
The Series C round was led by Insight Partners, which was also the headline backer of the company’s previous raise in March. Salesforce chipped in as well along with Index Ventures, IVP, Vine Ventures, 9Yards and Bessemer. The startup is now valued at $5 billion.
Amsterdam-based Wonderful sells a platform that enterprises use to build AI agents. The company says its agents can answer product questions, fix technical issues and automate other common business tasks. Wonderful enables users to organize their agent development projects in team-specific folders. A version control mechanism tracks project revisions and makes it possible to quickly roll back issues. Customers also have access to an A/B testing tool. They can use it to create multiple versions of an agent, compare their performance and identify the one that should be rolled out to end-users.
The second core component of the platform is called the Wonderful AI Gateway. It routes each agent request to the large language model most suited to process it. Complex prompts are sent to frontier LLMs while simple tasks are processed by smaller, less expensive algorithms.
Companies can create rules to customize AI Gateway’s behavior. For example, a startup could specify which developer team may use what models in its projects. The platform monitors each business unit’s LLM usage to detect cost spikes and potentially insecure access patterns.
Wonderful offers its software alongside professional services. The company has forward deployed engineering, or FDE, teams that help clients build agents atop its platform. They can also develop complete applications such as customer relationship management platforms. Wonderful says its FDEs build such programs from scratch in a fraction of the time required for traditional software modernization projects.

Wonderful will use its latest funding round to speed up product development initiatives and grow its international FDE teams.
