Qualcomm and HUMAIN unveiled a new AI PC called Horizon Ultra at LEAP 2026, and the pitch is pretty simple: run more AI tasks directly on the machine instead of sending everything to a server online.

HUMAIN and Qualcomm Technologies spent over a year building this together. The first version runs Microsoft Windows, which should make the PC familiar to most users thinking of buying one. HUMAIN also confirmed its own operating system, HUMAIN OS, is coming to this same hardware line in 2027.

    What’s powering Horizon Ultra?

The laptop runs on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X2 Elitechip, which packs an 18-core Oryon CPU, an Adreno GPU, and a Hexagon NPU. These three handle different workloads, so tasks get split up rather than dumped on a single chip. That setup lets AI modelsrun locally on the device, keeping sensitive data on the machine rather than on a server elsewhere. When a task needs more power than the laptop can provide on its own, it can still reach out to the cloud.

This approach to AI matters because local processing means faster responses and tighter control over data, especially for work that shouldn’t leave the device in the first place. HUMAIN CEO Tareq Amin said the goal is to make intelligence native to the device rather than something it simply connects to.

When can you actually buy one?

Horizon Ultra running Windows goes on sale for enterprise customers starting September 20, 2026, with AlFalak handling sales and delivery. The HUMAIN OS version follows in 2027, giving the company time to build its own software layer on top of the same hardware.

Horizon Ultra is one piece of HUMAIN’s larger AI push, which spans data centers, cloud infrastructure, models, and apps. Packing dedicated AI hardware into a laptop is the company’s attempt to bring that same stack down to a personal level, one device at a time.
