Welcome to Indie App Spotlight. This is a weekly 9to5Mac series where we showcase the latest apps in the indie app world. If you’re a developer and would like your app featured, get in contact.

If you lose track of things you’d like to reference later, <a href="https://apps.apple.com/us/app/laytr-save-read-later/id6803512999" rel="nofollow noopener” target=”_blank”>Laytr might be a nice solution for you. All of us save things all over the place, whether that be browser bookmarks, built-in bookmarking features within apps, taking a screenshot to hopefully find later, or just leaving a tab open and hoping we find it again later. Laytr aims to be a nice all-in-one solution for keeping track of your digital bookmarks.

    Highlights

Laytr offers an incredibly organized UI for keeping tabs on everything. It works with the native iOS share sheet, so when you find something, just hit share and click on Laytr. After that, you can set what to categorize it as, as well as when you want to be reminded again.

Within the app, there are three core tabs. The first one is the Now tab, where it highlights things you need to see imminently. There’s Timeline, which lets you scroll ahead and see things based on the date you set the reminder for, and Library, where you can see everything you’ve ever saved, both in categories or grouped together. Beyond that, you can also search.

One differentiating feature is that there’s no sync, even with iCloud, and no accounts. Everything lives on your device in its own separate bubble, and your data will never live on someone else’s server.

Laytr is available for free on the App Store for iPhone models running iOS 17 and later. You can use the app for free, but for unlimited access you’ll need a $1.99/month or $14.99/year subscription. There’s also a discount on lifetime, which normally fetches $39.99 but can be had for just $24.99 for early adopters.

Features like searching and exporting will never be limited by the paywall, so even if you decide to unsubscribe later, the app will remain usable.
