The smart ring market is getting crowded, and Oura isn’t waiting around to see what happens next: it officially filed to go public on September 3. The Finnish company’s revenue nearly doubled to $1.21 billion for the nine months ended June 30.
The filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission on Thursday shows that Oura’s revenue has jumped substantially in the past year. The company went from $697 million in revenue during the nine-month period that ended June 30 last year to $1.2 billion during the corresponding period this year.
The best smart rings are usually stuffed with health-monitoring features, such as the Oura Ring 5, while some models are specifically focused on a single dedicated task. These include blood pressure monitoring (like the Vital Signal Ring) or NFC payments, acting as a tiny digital wallet that lets you use your contactless credit cards.
