It’s time to start hatching a plan for Black Friday 2026. Most major retailers treat the entire month like one drawn-out holiday sale, and Best Buy is no exception. The electronics retailer has announced plans to roll out two waves of early Black Friday deals before a 10-day savings extravaganza around Black Friday proper (Nov. 27).
Having covered Black Friday sales for nearly a decade, Mashable’s reporters and editors agree that Best Buy is the place to shop if you’re looking for Black Friday deals on big-ticket items like large TVs, Windows laptops, gaming consoles, and espresso machines. This year, the pressure is on for it to combat price hikes related to the global memory crisis, which has made many popular tech gifts way more expensive than usual.
Here’s everything you need to know about Best Buy’s Black Friday sale before you start shopping.
When is Best Buy’s Black Friday sale?
Best Buy’s Black Friday sale will run from Thursday, Nov. 19 through Saturday, Nov. 28. Paid members of the My Best Buy program (Plus and Total tiers) will earn double points on their purchases from Nov. 19 to Dec. 6, the Sunday after Cyber Monday. Those points are redeemable for reward certificates.
Some of Best Buy’s Black Friday deals will be available ahead of time. The retailer is releasing batches of Early Black Friday Deals and Doorbusters on Friday, Nov. 6 and Nov. 13 as a way of “giving shoppers an early jump on some of the season’s best offers,” per a Best Buy blog post.
Should you wait until Black Friday to shop Best Buy’s deals?
It’s smart to shop Best Buy’s Black Friday deals as early as possible: According to a company FAQ page, items marked with its “Black Friday Deal” badge are available in limited quantities and do not offer rainchecks. “When they are sold out, they may be sold out through Black Friday,” it notes.
We expect high-demand, highly giftable items like Pokémon cards and gaming consoles (especially special-edition variants) to sell out the fastest.
What are Best Buy’s Black Friday hours?
Best Buy hasn’t announced its store hours for Black Friday 2026 yet, but last year it opened at 6 a.m. local time.

No, Best Buy stores will be closed on Thanksgiving Day, which falls on Thursday, Nov. 26 this year. This has been its policy since 2020. (Same with Target, Walmart, and other major retailers.)The best tech deal this week
Is it worth going to Best Buy on Black Friday?
It might be worth trekking to your local Best Buy on Black Friday. According to some fine print on the company’s Black Friday landing page, “there are usually a small handful of Black Friday deals that are only available for shoppers in a physical Best Buy store.” We don’t know exactly what those are yet, but we’ll update Mashable readers as soon as we find out.
If you’d rather avoid the stress of navigating crowds and lines, you won’t miss out on much by staying home. Most of Best Buy’s Black Friday deals will be available on its website, it said.
Does Best Buy price match?
Best Buy normally price-matches competing retailers such as Amazon, Costco, The Home Depot, Target, and Walmart. However, it changes this policy during the holidays. It will not price-match any official Black Friday deals at other retailers, nor any items on sale elsewhere from the Thursday before Thanksgiving through Cyber Monday (whether they’re called Black Friday deals or not).
So, if another retailer offers a better Black Friday deal on an item you’ve already purchased from Best Buy, you’ll just have to return it and buy it again.
The only deals Best Buy will price-match on Black Friday are its own. If you buy something there sometime between now and Dec. 31, and it gets cheaper later on in the season, Best Buy will refund the difference. You can request price matches online and in stores.
Some items are excluded from Best Buy’s Holiday Price Match Guarantee, including holiday decorations, “activatable” devices purchased under a third-party contract (such as phones), and non-returnable products like trading cards, gift cards, and e-bikes. Items sold by third-party sellers, aka “Marketplace Sellers,” are also ineligible for price matches.
What is Best Buy’s holiday return policy?
Almost anything you purchase at Best Buy now through Dec. 31 can be returned or exchanged until Jan. 15, 2027. (If you’re a My Best Buy Plus or Total member, you’ve got until Jan. 31, 2027.)
Again, the main exceptions here are holiday decor and activatable devices. They have 14- and 15-day return windows, respectively.
When is Best Buy’s Cyber Monday sale?
Best Buy is having a Cyber Sunday and Monday Sale Event on Nov. 29 and 30. It will then offer Cyber Week Deals from Dec. 1 to 6.
To wrap up the holidays, Best Buy will have a Last-Minute Savings Event from Dec. 18 to 24.
