Leak: HONOR Robot Phone 2 is in the works, could launch next year

The HONOR Robot Phone was probably the biggest surprise of the year in the Android world. It featured a main camera attached to a gimbal arm, enabling an unprecedented amount of stability and stabilization functionality. It looks like this won’t be a one-off, either.
Tipster Smart Pikachu claimed on Weibo that the HONOR Robot Phone 2 and a standalone handheld device (or devices) are in the works. It’s unclear what the latter is, but we’ve previously heard murmurings that some brands were working on standalone action cameras.
The phone is said to be developed in conjunction with camera brand ARRI once again. However, there seems to be some Translate-induced confusion regarding the cameras. Google’s in-line translation suggests that the device could have 100MP sensors. Meanwhile, the Google Translate website and Bing Translate suggest cameras with “hundreds of megapixels.” The previous model had a 200MP main camera attached to a gimbal arm, a 200MP periscope camera, and a 50MP ultrawide lens.
The tipster asserts in a follow-up comment that the phone is tentatively scheduled for a Q2 2027 launch window. For what it’s worth, the original Robot Phone was shown off in Q2 this year before being released in August 2026.
We hope the HONOR Robot Phone 2 is actually available outside China, though. After all, HONOR held a “global launch event” for the original Robot Phone, but it’s not actually available globally.
