Describe the app, approve the plan and review the result. The backend, database, user accounts and hosting are already in place.
Appy Pie today launched its Agentic AI App Builder, which puts four specialised AI agents to work on a business’s iOS and Android app. The owner explains what the app should do, approves the plan and reviews the result. The agents plan, design, build and test the app, and the services needed to run it, including backend, database, user accounts and hosting, are included from the start.
For most small and mid-sized businesses, the barrier to a custom app has not been the idea but the project around it: finding developers, setting up infrastructure and managing the work. The new builder expands Appy Pie’s existing AI app creation platform to remove that overhead, bringing the development workflow and the services needed to run an app into one environment.
“This is our biggest product announcement in a decade,” said Abhinav Girdhar, Founder and CEO of Appy Pie. “We want a business owner to explain an idea and have an AI team help turn it into an app. The user sets the direction and approves the plan. Our agents handle the work of designing, building and testing, with the infrastructure already in place.”
A project starts with a written or spoken request, with files or screenshots attached for context. A brief such as “Build a CRM for my sales team with customer records, a deal pipeline and individual logins” is enough to begin. From there, each agent takes one stage:
- Planning Agent asks clarifying questions and proposes the features, screens and data structure. Nothing is built until the owner approves the plan.
- Design Agent creates the screens, layouts and colours, using the business’s logo or website as a brand reference where provided.
- Build Agent generates the app in React Native for iOS and Android and connects it to the built-in backend, database and user accounts.
- Testing Agent runs automated checks and applies fixes to detected issues before presenting a preview for review.
The owner can open the preview on their own phone through a QR code and ask for changes in ordinary language, such as “Add a revenue chart to the dashboard.” The generated app code can also be exported, so the business keeps control of what is built.
Appy Pie manages the integrated backend, database, authentication and hosting, so a business can begin without opening separate infrastructure accounts. Teams that already use Firebase or Supabase can connect those services instead.
The builder supports projects ranging from CRMs, customer portals and admin dashboards to online stores, community apps, media services and 2D games. Supported features include push notifications, hosted checkout, media and a web-based admin panel.
Apps can also plug into the tools a business already runs. The platform supports workflows through Claude and Claude Code, alongside more than 60 integrations through Model Context Protocol (MCP), an open standard for connecting AI tools to other software. Connections through Flozic, Appy Pie’s workflow automation platform, extend an app into a business’s existing processes.
Appy Pie holds U.S. Patent No. 12,737,158 B2, granted on September 15, 2026, for conversational app-building technology using natural language processing. The underlying international application was filed on June 7, 2021. The patent names Abhinav Girdhar as inventor and Appy Pie LLP as assignee.
The Agentic AI App Builder is available at www.appypie.com. Current plans, billing terms and publishing options are listed at www.appypie.com/pricing.
