Apple has shortened its estimated fulfillment windows for some iPhone Duo preorders in the US and Japan. Emphasis on “some” orders—not every Duo will be delivered before the new year.
Apple began accepting preorders on October 16, one week ahead of the phone’s October 23 launch. Because of massive demand and scalpers doing their thing, many preorder delivery estimates hit January 2027 within about half an hour.
Since then, a few customers have been lucky enough to see shortened fulfillment times. US-based YouTuber Matt Gonzalez shared that Apple changed his iPhone Duo (Star White 512GB) delivery window from December to November 20–30. Other Americans reported changes from December 1–8 to November 16–23. A Japanese customer even reported an update from December 3–10 to October 23.
Apple hasn’t explained why delivery windows are shortening for some buyers and not for others. Some speculate that Apple may be spotting and canceling scalper-driven bot orders, opening up stock for legitimate customers. Others think the updated order progress bars and estimated dates are the result of some backend error. In either case, we’ll find out very soon.
