After introducing the first GPT-6 models last month, OpenAI today announced new GPT-6 models built for everyday ChatGPT conversations, alongside a new Intelligent UI. Here are the details.
ChatGPT gets GPT-6 and Intelligent UI
OpenAI announced today that it is rolling out GPT-6 Sol in ChatGPT for Plus, Pro, Business, and Enterprise subscribers, while GPT-6 Luna will begin rolling out to Free and Go users tomorrow.
According to OpenAI, these GPT-6 models are tuned for everyday conversation and introduce Intelligent UI, a new capability that lets ChatGPT dynamically combine text, visuals, and interactive elements based on the question and the answer’s content.
With Intelligent UI, responses can include graphics, tappable buttons, forms, charts, and interactive experiences you can use directly in your conversation.
The format depends on what you’re asking. A comparison might work best side by side. An explanation might be easier to understand through an interactive diagram. And when a simple text answer is the most useful response, ChatGPT can give you that.
In the blog post detailing today’s news, OpenAI showcases how different prompts may generate answers with different visual aids.
For more complex prompts, ChatGPT can generate interactive widgets that let users explore concepts or adjust inputs to see how the results change.
ChatGPT can also now create interactive tools directly within a conversation, such as calculators, bill splitters, and games. And with GPT-6, OpenAI says ChatGPT can begin answering while it continues to think, progressively adding information to the response instead of waiting for the entire reasoning process to finish.
