DroneShield launches Mission Ready Services subscription

    Fri, 2nd Oct 2026
    MARA SUGUENews Editor

DroneShield has launched Mission Ready Services, a subscription service for its counter-drone systems that combines software updates, training and support in a recurring model.

The service is being introduced across the company’s global customer base and will apply to both existing and next-generation product lines.

Mission Ready Services brings together four elements that were previously spread across different parts of the customer relationship: software updates, e-learning, technical support, and an online portal for documentation, renewals and support management.

The launch comes as customers look to keep counter-drone equipment current after initial deployment. DroneShield said it already has more than 4,100 software-enabled devices in the field.

Under the model, customers will receive ongoing software releases, feature enhancements, security updates and other changes aimed at keeping systems aligned with shifting threats and operational needs. The e-learning component includes self-paced training for operators, administrators and leadership teams, with course tracking and certification.

Support is provided through specialist technical teams, with basic and extended options based on customer requirements. The portal is designed to give users a single place to manage training, support, subscriptions and planning resources tied to their counter-drone setup.

DroneShield is shifting from one-off product sales to a recurring support model that extends beyond procurement and installation. Existing software subscription customers will move to Mission Ready Services at their next renewal, while retaining access to applicable software updates.

The shift reflects a broader trend in defence technology and security software, as suppliers seek longer-term service revenue and customers look for products that can adapt over time rather than become outdated within a few years.

Counter-drone systems are used by military, government, public safety, infrastructure and commercial security organisations, where changing drone tactics can alter operating requirements after equipment has already been deployed. In that environment, software maintenance, operator training and support can become as important as the original hardware purchase.

Angus Bean, Chief Executive Officer of DroneShield, said the company sees readiness as extending beyond the device itself.

“Counter-drone capability is no longer defined solely by hardware performance,” said Angus Bean, Chief Executive Officer of DroneShield.

“Mission success depends on keeping systems updated, operators trained and support available when it matters most. Mission Ready Services reflects DroneShield’s commitment to supporting customers throughout the entire operational lifecycle, so a system deployed today is as ready in three years as the day it was fielded,” Bean said.

Mission Ready Services is offered as an annually renewable service alongside DroneShield products. By combining software subscriptions, training and support in one package, the company aims to simplify renewals and lifecycle management for customers operating fleets of systems across multiple sites or teams.

The structure may also give DroneShield a steadier stream of recurring revenue tied to its installed base. In defence and security technology, support contracts and software renewals can provide more predictable income than irregular hardware orders, particularly once equipment is already in the field.

Louis Gamarra, Chief Commercial Officer of DroneShield, said customers wanted support that matched the life of their investment in the systems.

“Customers are making significant investments in counter-drone capabilities to protect personnel, assets, infrastructure and operations,” said Louis Gamarra, Chief Commercial Officer of DroneShield.

“Mission Ready Services ensures those investments continue delivering value throughout the life of the system while enabling teams to operate with greater confidence and effectiveness,” Gamarra said.

DroneShield said support offerings and service options will continue to expand as it scales its customer support infrastructure worldwide.
