Bugatti CEO Mate Rimac is an engineering icon who builds the world’s wildest, fastest, most exotic hypercars. He’s also a lifelong LEGO fan, so when the company rolled out a Technic version of Rimac’s ultra-special Bugatti Chiron Pur Sport, he decided it needed an equally ultra-special delivery experience.
Bugatti CEO Mate Rimac has a reputation as a real-life Tony Stark, diving headfirst into EVs, building incredibly capable and complex machinery <a href="https://electrek.co/2021/07/05/rimac-takes-over-bugatti-electrification-legendary-supercar-brand/” rel=”nofollow noopener” target=”_blank”>that earned him an investment from Porsche and a merger with Bugatti, and even living out every gearhead’s dream of seeing his own name on the back of a car. So when LEGO turned his Bugatti Chiron Pur Sport into a Technic set, Rimac dove headfirst into the launch — first building one at speed, then personally delivering three sets to kids in his hometown of Zagreb, Croatia in an actual, 1:1 scale $3 million Bugatti Chiron.
Mate and LEGO posted a few of the deliveries to Instagram as a publicity stunt, but it’s hard to be cynical when you see just how excited some of these kids get seeing one of Rimac’s ultra-rare machines in the flesh

The 771-piece 42222 Bugatti Chiron Pur Sport LEGO Technic set packs a surprising amount of engineering into its 11″ frame, with working steering controlled by a gear on the roof, a detailed take on Bugatti’s iconic W16 engine, opening doors and hood, and bodywork that captures the real Chiron Pur Sport’s distinctive shape.
There’s even something for gamers in the box, with LEGO packing a code that lets builders drive a digital version of the car in Asphalt Legends on Xbox, PlayStation, Switch, PC, or mobile.
The LEGO Technic Bugatti Chiron is available on Amazon now at 20% off (an all-time low); and if you’re a Bugatti or LEGO superfan, we’ve got a rundown of other Bugatti LEGO collabs for you, below – which probably won’t get hand-delivered by Mate Rimac … but you never know!
