The floodgates are open. After a delay and staggered starts, Samsung is widely rolling out its Android 17-based One UI 9 update for Galaxy S26 users around the globe, and they’re not alone.
Samsung started testing its Android 17 update, otherwise known as One UI 9, back in May of this year. The stable version debuted on the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Flip 8 in July, and the company announced its stable rollout to older devices would begin earlier this month. A delay behind the scenes left users waiting a bit longer, but it’s actually happening now.
That starts with Galaxy S26 devices, which are now widely receiving their Android 17 <a href="https://myappsplus.com/can-you-still-use-your-router-if-it-doesnt-get-firmware-updates/” title=”Can you still use your router if it doesn't get firmware updates?”>updates in regions all over the world. The update was already showing up for many in the US and South Korea, but it’s now appearing across Europe, India, and other regions as SammyGurupoints out. Inbox by 9to5Google author Daniel Bader also notes that the roughly 4GB update landed on his Galaxy S26 Ultra in Canada earlier today.
And the Galaxy S26 series is not alone.
SamMobile notes that stable updates are starting to appear for a host of other Galaxy devices, though right now in staggered releases and/or only for those who were previously enrolled in the beta program. Devices included in those early rollouts include Galaxy S25 series (including FE and Edge), Galaxy Z TriFold, Galaxy Z Fold 7, Galaxy Z Flip 7, and Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE.
