After a lengthy delay, Samsung is finally rolling out its Android 17-based One UI 9 update for Galaxy S26 users in the US more broadly.
Samsung announced its One UI 9 rollout early this month, but updates didn’t start flowing. Last week the update finallystarted to trickle out in the US, but only for users on T-Mobile.
Now, the floodgates are starting to crack.
Galaxy S26 users on unlocked devices in the US are now seeing One UI 9 land, Android 17 in tow, at least for those who were enrolled in the beta program. It’s still not a full rollout, but it’s another step towards the full debut. SammyGuruand others spotted the rollout which, for those in the beta, measures around 650MB, while Android Authority also cites some Samsung changelogsthat detail everything new.
Samsung’s official changelog follows (edited for formatting):
- Now nudge provides helpful suggestions in more places throughout your Galaxy experience. In addition to the keyboard, suggestions will now appear in conversation notifications and in a floating button in the bottom right corner of the screen. There are also several new types of suggestions, like entering reservation details or addresses and saving places in Google Maps.
- My FanCam lets you select a person in a video and follow them automatically while cropping out the rest of the video.
