Crédit Agricole next bank (CA next bank) has become the first bank in Switzerland to put Avaloq’s new mobile banking system into operation, following a pilot programme for the local market.
The application is provided through a software-as-a-service (SaaS) setup and is intended to give the bank’s customers a secure and straightforward way to manage banking on mobile devices.
It gives CA next bank more scope to widen digital self-service functions and introduce later changes at a faster pace as customer needs shift.
CA next bank chief digital & information officer Maxime Charton said: “The launch of our new app is an important step in strengthening our digital banking services. Our clients expect a simple and reliable way to manage their finances on their smartphone, and this was a key focus for us throughout the project. By working closely with Avaloq, we were able to pilot the solution in the Swiss market, refine it based on user feedback and become the first bank in Switzerland to bring it into production.”
Through the new app, users can handle more day-to-day banking tasks on their phones, including a broader set of payment and investment actions, as per the tech vendor.
Avaloq said the system will be updated on a regular basis, with additional functions introduced in line with CA next bank’s business requirements and customer needs.
The mobile banking system uses Avaloq’s architecture, separating the front-end interface from core backend systems.
This is intended to help CA next bank add features more quickly while preserving stability across its digital services.
The application also includes current authentication standards and real-time push alerts for day-to-day banking use.
