Apple may still be cleaning up after the end of the iPhone launch, but attention is already turning to an October event.

There are still a lot of new products we’re expecting the company to unveil, with the most exciting of these including touchscreen MacBooks and a smart home hub we’ve been dubbing the HomePad. But which ones will launch this year, and which ones will have to wait until next year … ?

Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman has laid out his latest expectations. He’s still being a little coy with exact timings, simply saying that some products will launch “later this year” rather than specifically in an October event. That could potentially allow for some launches next month and others closer to the end of the year.

    This year

Gurman says we can expect six new products later this year:

    • Touchscreen MacBook Pro models (likely in 14- and 16-inch versions)
    • An updated 14-inch MacBook Pro with the M6 chip (non-touchscreen model)
    • A new iMac, although this will only be new colors and an M6 processor
    • HomePod mini 2, with Siri AI
    • Apple TV 4K, with Siri AI
    • iPad mini, with OLED screen

However, he still has no answer on whether we can expect to see the launch of the HomePad, stating that while it may launch in October, the timeline is “likely still fluid.”

    First half of 2027

The iPhone Air 2 is potentially the most significant of the product launches expected in the first half of next year. This is expected to add an ultrawide camera and to offer improved battery life. The iPad Air is also expected to get an OLED screen for the first time, as well as a more powerful chip.

The rest of the list is lengthy, but mostly comprises iterative updates:

    • IPhone 18, mostly expected to be the iPhone 17 with A20 chip
    • IPhone 18e, likewise only seeing a chip upgrade
    • MacBook Air models with M6 chip
    • MacBook Neo with an A19 Pro chip
    • Entry-level iPad with Siri AI support
    • iPad Pro models with chip and cooling upgrades
    • Two Apple Pencil updates, both expected to be compatible with the iPhone Duo

    Later in 2027

Things are, however, expected to get much more interesting in the second half of next year.

Smart glasses; AirPods with built-in cameras; a home security system and related device; a redesigned <a href="https://myappsplus.com/new-apple-watch-features-may-require-new-legal-precedent-for-privacy/" title="New Apple Watch features may require new legal precedent for privacy”>Apple Watch; a 20th-anniversary iPhone line; and a second-generation iPhone Duo.
