After a months stuffed with speculation, the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max are finally here and pre-orders officially went live over the weekend. While they look like fairly iterative upgrades over their predecessors, that new variable-aperture will have photography fans excited.

Boasting a snappier A20 Pro chip, even longer battery life and a smaller Dynamic Island, as well as a new camera system, the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max look like the iPhone 17 Pro with a buff and a polish, and a price hike to boot. Coming in four colours – black, silver, glacier blue and an all-new burgundy – there’s lots more choice of colour this year.

Available to pre-order now, retailers and mobile carriers are already offering trade-in deals, contract offers and other incentives on the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max. I’ve sifted through them all to find the best pre-order deals and trade-in savings worth considering.

The iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max are the most expensive pro-grade iPhones that Apple has ever produced.

The iPhone 17 Pro launched at £1,099 for the 256GB model. The iPhone 18 Pro, however, starts at £1,199 with the same 256GB of storage. That means you’re paying an extra £100 for the latest model without getting any additional storage at the entry level.

    • £1,199 for 256GB
    • £1,399 for 512GB
    • £1,799 for 1TB
    • £2,399 for the new 2TB model

If you want the larger iPhone 18 Pro Max, you’ll pay:

    • £1,299 for 256GB
    • £1,499 for 512GB
    • £1,899 for 1TB
    • £2,499 for 2TB.

The 256GB and 512GB storage sizes have both gone up by £100, while the 1TB model has had an increase of £300 and the iPhone 18 Pro Max with 2TB has increased by £500. This is also the first time the iPhone 18 Pro has had a 2TB variant.

The iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max will be released on Friday 18 September.

While there aren’t any discounts on the iPhone 18 Pro or iPhone 18 Pro Max when bought outright, the Apple Store and major retailers are running trade-in schemes to help bring down the cost.

While there aren’t any deals on the iPhone 18 Pro or iPhone 18 Pro Max, you can get a discount on the handset by trading in your old tech. The retailer is offering up to £560, with the exact amount depending on the make, model and condition of your current devices.

You can trade in phones, tablets, laptops, smartwatches and games consoles in any condition. Once Very’s trade-in partner MTR has received and checked your device, you can choose to be paid by bank transfer, with MTR offering same-day payment if there aren’t any issues with your trade-in.

John Lewis is offering up to £756 when you trade in your old iPhone, though you’ll need an iPhone 17 Pro Max with a whopping 2TB of storage to get the maximum amount. More common models still fetch a good amount though, with up to £614 for an iPhone 17 Pro Max with 256GB of storage, £546 for an iPhone 17 Pro with 256GB of storage and £462 for an iPhone 16 Pro with 256GB, depending on condition.

The trade-in is handled by Likewize, with John Lewis saying payment can take up to three working days once your device has been received and assessed. John Lewis also includes a two-year guarantee with the iPhone 18 Pro and is offering £15 off an Apple TechWoven case when bought with the handset.

There aren’t any deals on the iPhone 18 Pro at Argos, but if you’ve been stacking up those Nectar points, you can use them towards your purchase. You’ll also collect one Nectar point for every £1 you spend, so you’ll earn 1,399 points if you buy the 512GB iPhone 18 Pro.

You can also trade in your current handset to lower the price. Argos is offering between £19 and £320 when you trade in your old phone, which is considerably lower than other retailers on this list.

If you’ve got a bunch of Amazon gift cards you’ve been waiting to use, as well as an old phone to trade in, it might be worth buying your new iPhone 18 Pro from Amazon. The retailer has some of the most generous trade-in prices I’ve found, with its trade-in scheme handled by NorthLadder.

An iPhone 17 Pro Max with 256GB of storage in excellent condition is valued at £743; an iPhone 17 Pro with 256GB of storage will fetch up to £660 and an iPhone 16 Pro with 256GB of storage gets you up to £499. If you happen to have a top-spec iPhone 17 Pro Max with 2TB of storage, you’ll get up to £921. Amazon advertises trade-in savings of up to £1,064, though that likely applies to laptop trade-ins.

Currys will give you an extra £50 on top of the value of your old phone when you trade in any eligible working handset and buy the iPhone 18 Pro. The offer applies whether you’re trading in an iPhone or an Android phone. The offer ends on 6 October.

Currys values an iPhone 17 Pro Max 2TB in working condition at £790, meaning you’ll get £840 with the extra £50 trade-in bonus. If you trade in online, the money is paid into your bank account once your old phone has been approved.

If you’d prefer to buy from Apple directly, you can trade in your current iPhone when buying the iPhone 18 Pro. Apple will give you £25 to £855 for an old iPhone, with an iPhone 17 Pro Max fetching up to £855 and an iPhone 17 Pro worth up to £725. An iPhone Air will get you up to £515 and an iPhone 17 is worth up to £485.

You can trade in your iPhone online or take it into an Apple Store, putting the value directly towards your new iPhone 18 Pro, or you can choose to have it credited to you in the form of an Apple gift card.

Mobile phone carriers have dropped pre-order deals on the latest iPhone 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max. If you’re looking to buy your new smartphone with a contract, carriers have slashed the price on data and are throwing in additional perks.

One note to the wise though, often the cheapest way of buying a new iPhone is to secure it on 0 per cent finance, spreading the cost over 24 months, then pairing it with one of the cheapest sim-only deals. Some of the best and cheapest sim-only deals include:

Carphone Warehouse has one of the best-value iPhone 18 Pro deals I’ve found, especially if you’re happy to pay a little more up front. The deals with iD Mobile plans come with a huge 100GB of data and only tie you in for 24 months.

You can get the iPhone 18 Pro with 100GB of data for £44.99 per month with a £199 up-front cost. The iPhone 18 Pro Max costs £50.99 per month with the same 100GB of data and £199 up front. Once the up-front cost and scheduled price rises are factored in, the iPhone 18 Pro deal works out at £55.09 per month, or £1,321.96 over the entire contract, meaning you’re paying just £122.96 more than the £1,199 cost of buying the phone outright for two years of 100GB data.

The iD Mobile plans include unlimited calls and texts, data rollover, roaming and bill capping. Carphone Warehouse will also give you up to £480 when you trade in an iPhone 16 Pro handset for the iPhone 18 Pro – this will increase to £530 if you have an iPhone 16 Pro Max to trade in and buy the Pro Max. You’ll also get up to two months of Apple Music, Apple Fitness+ and Apple Arcade for free.

    • iPhone 18 Pro with 100GB of data: £44.99 per month, £199 up-front cost, 24-month contract, CarphoneWarehouse.com
    • iPhone 18 Pro Max with 100GB of data: £50.99 per month, £199 up-front cost, 24-month contract, CarphoneWarehouse.com
    (Apple)

After Carphone Warehouse, Sky Mobile has the next best iPhone 18 Pro deals I’ve found, particularly if you don’t need heaps of data each month.

The iPhone 18 Pro starts from just £42 per month with 3GB of data and a £12 up-front cost. The iPhone 18 Pro Max costs £45 per month with the same 3GB of data and a £12 up-front cost. Both handsets will be paid over 36 months, but the data plan only has a 12-month minimum term. For just £4 more per month, you can increase your data allowance to 40GB.

Sky Mobile has some decent perks as well. You can change your data plan whenever you like, stream on Sky apps without eating into your data and roll any unused data into your Sky Piggybank, where it can be exchanged for rewards or money off a new device or accessory. Sky is also offering up to £760 off the iPhone 18 Pro or £815 off the iPhone 18 Pro Max when you trade in an eligible handset and take out a 40GB plan.

    • iPhone 18 Pro with 3GB of data: £42 per month, £12 up-front cost, 36-month contract, Sky.com
    • iPhone 18 Pro Max with 3GB of data: £45 per month, £12 up-front cost, 36-month contract, Sky.com

Tesco Mobile also has some pretty good iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max contracts, and they’re particularly good if you don’t want to pay an up-front fee.

The cheapest plans come with 3GB of data. The iPhone 18 Pro starts from £48.49 per month and the iPhone 18 Pro Max from £51.49 per month, both on 36-month contracts. While they’re pricier, Clubcard members can also get the iPhone 18 Pro with 25GB for £53.49 per month or the iPhone 18 Pro Max with 25GB of data for £56.49 per month.

There are also 250GB Clubcard plans for £61.49 for the iPhone 18 Pro and £64.49 for the Pro Max, with prices frozen for the length of the contract and a £100 Tesco gift card thrown in for free. Tesco Mobile doesn’t charge for EU roaming, and you’ll get three months of Apple Music, Apple TV, Apple Arcade, Apple Fitness+ and Apple News+ for free.

    • iPhone 18 Pro with 3GB of data: £48.49 per month, £0 up-front cost, 36-month contract, TescoMobile.com
    • iPhone 18 Pro Max with 3GB of data: £51.49 per month, £0 up-front cost, 36-month contract, TescoMobile.com
    (Apple)

If you want to stick with the major carriers, Vodafone has some of the cheapest starting prices on the iPhone 18 Pro, and recently launched its new premium SuperMobile plans for customers who want faster speeds and a more reliable connection.

The iPhone 18 Pro starts from £46.16 per month with 1GB of data and a £40 up-front cost. The iPhone 18 Pro Max starts from £48.20 per month with the same 1GB data allowance and a £50 up-front cost. Its new SuperMobile plans start from £30 per month and offer up to four times faster speeds on its new 5G+ FastTrack, guaranteed minimum speeds and built-in security.

Vodafone is also offering up to £855 when you trade in an eligible iPhone, plus a lifetime warranty and free battery checks and replacements. Vodafone customers also get access to VeryMe Rewards, with weekly treats, discounts, giveaways and prize draws.

    • iPhone 18 Pro with 1GB of data: £46.16 per month, £40 up-front cost, 48-month contract, Vodafone.co.uk
    • iPhone 18 Pro Max with 1GB of data: £48.20 per month, £50 up-front cost, 48-month contract, Vodafone.co.uk

If you like perks, O2 is for you. While it doesn’t have the lowest possible prices on the iPhone 18 Pro, the bonuses can sweeten the deal.

The cheapest iPhone 18 Pro deal comes with 5GB for £50.49 per month with a £30 up-front cost, spread over 48 months. The iPhone 18 Pro Max starts from £52.73 per month with the same £30 up-front cost and 5GB of data, also over 48 months. O2 is also offering up to £580 when you trade in an eligible handset, and customers get access to O2 Priority.

Even the very cheapest plans include free EU roaming up to 25GB, which is almost unheard of for a major carrier these days, and there’s a huge three-year warranty and O2 Satellite at no extra cost for a limited time. If you get a Plus plan, you’ll also get data rollover, O2 Switch Up and inclusive roaming in 75 destinations, including the US. An Ultimate plan includes roaming to 123 destinations.

    • iPhone 18 Pro with 5GB of data: £50.49 per month, £30 up-front cost, 48-month contract, O2.co.uk
    • iPhone 18 Pro Max with 5GB of data: £52.73 per month, £30 up-front cost, 48-month contract, O2.co.uk

EE usually has some of the priciest mobile contracts, but its iPhone 18 Pro deals are fairly competitive if you’re happy to spread the cost over 48 months.

The cheapest plans come with 5GB of data. The iPhone 18 Pro starts from £51.49 per month with a £30 up-front cost and the iPhone 18 Pro Max starts from £53.73 per month with a £30 up-front cost.

The 5GB plan includes unlimited calls and texts, access to EE’s 5G+ network and the ability to gift unused data to family members. EE is also offering up to £624 when you trade in an eligible handset, plus six months of Apple Music and three months of Apple TV and Apple Arcade for free.

    • iPhone 18 Pro with 5GB of data: £51.49 per month, £30 up-front cost, 48-month contract, EE.co.uk
    • iPhone 18 Pro Max with 5GB of data: £53.73 per month, £30 up-front cost, 48-month contract, EE.co.uk
    (Apple)

Three’s iPhone 18 Pro deals aren’t the cheapest I’ve found, but it’s worth considering if you want access to its Three+ rewards programme or have an old iPhone to trade in.

The cheapest iPhone 18 Pro deal comes with a generous 30GB of data for £51.88 per month with a £40 up-front cost, while the iPhone 18 Pro Max costs £54.60 per month with 30GB and a £50 up-front cost.

All plans come with unlimited calls and texts, 5G at no extra cost and access to Three+ Rewards. Three is also offering up to £855 when you trade in an eligible phone, with total savings of up to £1,035 available when combining an eligible trade-in with an unlimited plan.

    • iPhone 18 Pro with 30GB of data: £51.88 per month, £40 up-front cost, 36-month contract, Three.co.uk
    • iPhone 18 Pro Max with 30GB of data: £54.60 per month, £50 up-front cost, 36-month contract, Three.co.uk

Carphone Warehouse has arguably the best-value iPhone 18 Pro deal I’ve found so far. Its iD Mobile plan gives you 100GB of data for £44.99 per month with £199 up front on a 24-month contract. Once the up-front cost and scheduled price rises are factored in, that’s an equivalent monthly cost of £55.09, or £1,321.96 over the entire contract.

That’s really good considering the iPhone 18 Pro costs £1,199 on its own. If you’d rather keep your up-front and monthly costs down, Sky Mobile is my next pick. You can get the iPhone 18 Pro with 40GB for £46 per month and just £12 up front, while the Pro Max costs £49 per month with the same amount of data. You can also roll your data into your Sky Piggybank and can change your data plan whenever you like.

Tesco Mobile is another good option if you don’t want to pay anything up front. The iPhone 18 Pro starts from £48.49 per month and the Pro Max from £51.49 per month. It also includes free EU roaming. Clubcard members can also get discounted plans with more data. Vodafone has some of the lowest starting prices out of the major carriers, as well as up to £855 off when you trade in an eligible iPhone, a lifetime warranty and access to VeryMe Rewards.
