Apple has released new firmware for AirPods Pro 3 and select other AirPods models, adding support for the latest iOS 27 features.
New AirPods firmware arrives alongside iOS 27 with support for latest features
Today Apple launched iOS 27 on iPhone, and now the company is rolling out new AirPods firmware that supports the update’s latest features.
The latest AirPods firmware is build 9A348.
It’s available for select models, including:
- AirPods Pro 3
- AirPods Pro 2
- AirPods Max 2
- AirPods 4
AirPods 5 will support the new firmware too when they ship later this week.
Apple’s new firmware adds compatibility and support for the latest AirPods features in iOS 27.
- Custom EQ
- Siri AI with compatible iPhone
- Precision Finding via Apple Watch
- GymKit support
- Redesigned AirPods settings
About half the new features are exclusive to AirPods Pro 3, while the rest are more broadly available.
Apple doesn’t offer a way to manually trigger an AirPods firmware update. However, it has published instructions here for how to ensure the update installs in the background.
