Wis. (WEAU) – The Chippewa Falls Public Library is offering seniors free classes and a free laptop this fall
The library is offering a free, 10-week course covering everything from email and internet basics to cybersecurity and telehealth.
Participants who finish the course keep the laptop they trained on.
Classes run Tuesday afternoons, starting Sept. 15. Only 10 spots are open, and organizers say to register soon.
The course, called Digital Literacy for Seniors, covers basic computer and phone skills, internet basics, email and social media, Windows basics, information literacy, cybersecurity basics and telehealth.
Classes run from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Tuesdays, Sept. 15 through Nov. 17, at the Chippewa Falls Public Library. The program is free and open to the public, and registration is required.
The computers come with Windows 11 and a one-year warranty through First Choice in Eau Claire.
The course is sponsored by Literacy Chippewa Valley and Friends of the Chippewa Falls Public Library.
