Apple rolled out another iPhone/iPad update, narrowly focused on fixing a problem that could interfere with future software.
Apple just released iOS 26.6.2 for iPhone 11 and later models, along with supported iPad Pro, iPad Air, iPad, and iPad mini models with an A12 chip or later.
The update fixes an issue that prevented some software updates from downloading over a cellular connection.
Apple’s support page for iOS 26 lists no additional new features or changes for version 26.6.2:
The company also says the release has no published CVE entries, meaning Apple has not identified any security vulnerabilities specifically addressed by the update.
One catch applies to users already affected by the cellular-download problem.

Apple says those devices will need to install the fix over Wi-Fi or a computer because the bug can prevent the update from downloading over a cellular connection.
Once installed, iOS 26.6.2 should allow subsequent software updates over cellular to proceed normally.
According to Apple’s developer release listings, the release carries build number 23G90.
Users can normally check for the update by opening Settings, selecting General, and tapping Software Update.
The relatively small release arrives as Apple moves toward the next major version of its mobile operating system.
