Samsung has released the first software update for its latest Galaxy Watch 9. The update brings the August 2026 security patch to protect the smartwatch from newly discovered security threats. It is currently <a href="https://myappsplus.com/google-health-5-07-rolling-out-with-better-manual-logging-maps-more/” title=”Google Health 5.07 rolling out with better manual logging, maps, & more”>rolling out in South Korea, though other regions should get the new build in the coming days.
August 2026 security patch arrives for Galaxy Watch 9
The Galaxy Watch 9 has picked up its first software update since its launch. For the 44mm Bluetooth model, the update comes with firmware version AZH4and an OTA size of 193.09MB. According to the changelog, the firmware includes security-related stabilization code. There is no mention of any new features or improvements.
As a result, Galaxy Watch 9 owners should not expect any changes after installing the update. Instead, the new software focuses on keeping the smartwatch secure with the August 2026 security level. So, install the update once it becomes available for your device.
You can check for updates through the Galaxy Wearable app on your connected phone. Open the app, then go to Watch settings > Watch software update> Download and install. As of now, only Korean Galaxy Watch 9 units have received the update. The company should expand the rollout to other regions soon.
The Galaxy Watch 9 runs One UI 9 Watch based on Wear OS 7. It features the Snapdragon Wear Elite platform, which delivers faster, smoother performance for apps, menus, and workout tracking. Samsung has also introduced Raise to Talk to offer hands-free Gemini access.
Furthermore, the smartwatch comes with a ton of health and fitness features, so users can better understand their body, fitness, and recovery. It also offers improved battery capacity for longer usage.
