    • Live Translate lets you directly talk to speakers of other languages, but so far has required a data connection.
    • <a href="https://myappsplus.com/<a href="https://myappsplus.com/more-ai-automations-with-google-opal/” title=”More AI Automations with Google Opal”>google-rolling-out-september-2026-update-for-pixel-watch-2-3-4/” title=”Google rolling out September 2026 update for Pixel Watch 2, 3, & 4″>Google Translate is now adding offline Live support.
    • Conversations are supported between English and French, German, Portuguese, Italian, Spanish, Hindi, Indonesian, Japanese, Russian, and Swedish.

Our phones are fantastic tools for helping us deal with unfamiliar situations, but all too often that requires having an active data connection — which can be far from a certainty, depending on where we’re going. That’s exactly why it’s so important to have offline options for some of those most critical tools, like offline support in Google Maps. Earlier this year we spotted Google working towards another new offline mode, as it prepared support for Live Translate without a data connection. And now we’re finally starting to see it arrive.

When we last took a peek at Googles in-development efforts back in May, it appeared that we could expect offline Live Translate support for at least English, French, German, Portuguese, Italian, and Spanish.
